ABOUT

"Johnson is a dynamic performer onstage with enormous power behind her vocals."

-Charlton Wiggins - Triad Live Music

“Dreamkiller stole the show! All in all, very talented singer. Very talented band.”

- Russell Fama - Executive Director, Super Sidekick Promotion & Production

“Bringing in the sharpness comes the vocals of Christy Johnson and Dreamkiller. Having shared the stage with numerous mainstream artists both in their hometown of Greensboro, NC and beyond, Dreamkiller are no strangers to beating the pavement. Describing their sound as melodic/theatrical rock, their sound is a refreshing blend of bright notes and sharp edges that seems to reminiscent of artists like Pat Benatar, The Donnas and Green Day. Johnson's vocal dynamics hit the mark in both highs and lows, exemplifying her incredible range, even on the grittier side of vocals. These guys are always on the prowl for their show and never seem to miss the chance to their shot, so you should have plenty of chances to catch them live.”

- Patricia Jones, Sceneazine - Vol. 3, Issue 4

“Amazing! ... Definitely theatrical. Very attractive and she’s got her show down pat.”

-Chris Kurtz – CEO Mediatwist Group
Head of Production - Feld Entertainment

“Being a singer myself, I always look forward to listening to other female singers and I hate being disappointed. I’m very happy to say that I wasn’t at all. I definitely love Christy’s voice.”

-Mariel Diaz-Carrion - Vocalist - Look Right Penny

[Bieler Bros Records]

“Christy Johnson has a very strong voice and her voice boasts of an impressive range.”

-BMJ - The Monk's House

Christy Johnson is an up-and-coming triple threat in the film, stage, and music industries. She has been submerged in the arts since she was six months old when her parents started her off in print modeling and pageants. She went on to acquire the title of Miss Greensboro. She had her first leading role in community theatre in sixth grade and soon fell in love with musical theatre, which she studied through high school and college before earning her MA and BA from UNC-G. She has performed in several professional musical theatre productions, though her current acting concentration is more focused on film, television, commercials and music videos. Her most notable film roles include "Dottie" in "Tobe Hooper’s Mortuary", "Faith" in "The Gospel According To Booze, Bullets & Hot Pink Jesus", "Lucifer/Pride" in "Hatchet County"and "Loraine" in "The Orbs: They Are Among Us". Look for her in upcoming releases as "Judy Hartley" in "Night of The Living Dead: Genesis", “Brie Kelly” in “Beneath The Old Dark House” and "Scary Carrie Carmichael" in the much anticipated feature film "GHOST TREK", currently in pre-production.

An accomplished athlete, Christy is a National gold medalist in three sports: Karate, Quad Speed Skating and Inline Speed Skating. She started practicing martial arts at age three, and went on to earn her second degree black belt. She studied five different types, but Karate and Kickboxing are her favorites. She was a State Games gold medalist for five consecutive years, as well as a gold medalist at the National Karate Junior Olympics. She was even awarded Athlete of The Year for NC Girls and Women in Sports and has been an Olympic Torch Bearer. She ran track for several years and lettered in it in high school. Her school's team won the state championship and she individually went to the regional competition in the Junior Olympics. As a competitive speed skater with the Piedmont Speed Team, she is a two time National Quad Speed Skating gold medalist, as well as a National Inline Speed Skating champion. She hopes to incorporate all of this into her acting as she loves action films and portraying strong characters with movement abilities. It helps that she also has experience with weapons and firearms.

Her experience as a vocalist goes back to the age of two, when she had memorized all of the commercial jingles on television and would sing along. She began choral training in fifth grade and was a member of her school's top auditioned ensemble/show choir in eighth grade. Later, she sang with the Gold Madrigals at Grimsley High School, and performed at Carnegie Hall, as well as two international tours in Europe. A notable solo performance was when she sang for the 75th Anniversary celebration of the Carolina Theatre, entitled "Thrill of The Showplace". She went on to form "Dreamkiller" [2011 Independent Artist Music Awards Rock Band Of The Year], a melodic hard rock band that presents elements of soulful melodies, jazzy harmonies, catchy rock hooks and prides themselves on colorful lyrics that include positive themes of strength, perseverance, conquering your fears head-on, as well as pushing with no limits to accomplish your goals. Through that endeavor she has been recognized with numerous awards, including 2010 Los Angeles Music Awards National Female Vocal Performer of The Year and 2013 International Music & Entertainment Awards Rock Female Vocalist of The Year.

National touring has included shows at the House of Blues Los Angeles, CA before it closed, the main stage of Rockapalooza in Jackson, MI, their debut at SXSW & Heart of Texas Music Festival in Austin, TX, Vans Warped Tour in Virginia Beach, VA, Paramount Theatre for the Los Angeles Music Awards, The Roxy and Whisky-A-Go-Go in Hollywood, CA, headlining Mad Monster Party in Charlotte, NC, the main stage of Megaton Music Festival in Toledo, OH, several events at the Hard Rock Cafe Memphis, TN, premiering Tim Owens' Traveler's Tavern in Akron, OH as the first headliner since their makeover on "Bar Rescue", SMACK Fest in Auburn, NY, KOHL Fest in Reading PA, Pappy Z's Farm Fest in Negley, OH, the 7th Annual Amory Railroad Festival in Amory, MS, Rock Solid Pressure Industry Showcase Pre-Party in St. Petersburg, FL and playing live on the air at Face the Music STL/1380 The X in St. Louis, MO. Notably, their track "Lyrik's Battle" was named as #7 of the Top 10 Most Requested Tracks of the year on the nationally syndicated FM/internet broadcast Rock Solid Pressure Show. Along with receiving numerous accolades, they have showcased at a plethora of music conferences and tour nationally in support of their full-length concept album "Sleepless Dreams". Additionally, they have released singles that were mixed by Grammy award winning producer, Toby Wright. With countless U.S. national tours under their belt, they added Canada to the list and hope to span their travel worldwide.

Christy’s brand new solo music is unveiling a compelling level of depth to her well-rounded aptitude in songwriting and vocal ability. This is reflected in her most accolade from the Producer’s Choice Honors as "Outstanding Female Singer Songwriter" for the Las Vegas F.A.M.E. Awards.  Christy’s debut releases include "Shadows of My Soul", "The Devil’s Den", "Fuel The Sun" and most recently "One Day at a Time", with much more music on the way.
